4th of July - Yes, July, not October

Since Savannah's blessing was on the 4th of July (which was a Sunday this year) we got to celebrate it with some of K.C.'s family.

Michael and Jackie got things all worked around so that they could come up this time. That was awesome because they haven't really been able to come up much. I was glad they could make it.

Craig and Abby had fun

"Look mom, an Ambliance"
(true story, the High Councilman that came to our ward last called it an Ambliance too.
It made K.C. and I smile!"

We tried to get up early enough to make it to the parade but when we got there we were told it had just finished. So we got to see the last of the float as they were leaving the parade.

I don't think the kids noticed. They still had fun and waved at them as they passed.

We then went to the park and played there.

Me and Mama Lou guarding the strollers! :)

As we were leaving Mama Lou picked some fruit (can't remember which kind) off of the ground where it had fallen from a vine. She thought it wouldn't be too sour so Larissa tried it too...
I might be wrong but my guess is that it was sour. Especially since Larissa kept shuddering and saying 'ew ew!' as we walked down the sidewalk!

Larissa Ran in the race for her age bracket and won! Go Larissa!

Even Dad Hunt ran! All of us girls missed it because we had gone to pick up some crafting supplies. But K.C. said he actually ran the whole way. Mama Lou couldn't believe it. She kept saying "MY husband? You're kidding me!"

We soon found that we had exhausted all of the FREE festivities so we went home with the intent to have our own carnival. But with lunch and naps and other things it didn't exactly happen. the plan was fun though.

We did make some firecracker decorations that were pretty sweet. That was fun.

Savannah was so cute that day!
And she did really good being hauled all over from place to place too.

Then we went to our customary spots on top of a hill to watch the 2 fireworks shows. It was fun.

They don't look all that impressive till you stop and look at the
city beneath them. They are lighting up practically the whole thing!
And they're as big as the hill!
