Girls Party

I just got back from our girls party! My sister, aunt and I left our children and husbands at home { the first time for me ever! It was harder than I thought it would be. } and went on a girls only trip. My younger sister also came and it was nice to have her along. She helped me stay awake on the long drive too! Thanks Wand! It would have been a disaster without you.

This is outside of Loren and Jess's place at the begining of the grand adventure. { by the way thanks Loren and Jess for letting us crash your house for the week and eat all your food. It was fun to be there. }

Trying on Hats !

The Hale Centre Theatre, where we went a saw "Big" as a live musical. It was so well done and so fun! I love live plays.

The sun was so bright that none of us could even open our eyes so I'm glad that this is not a close up picture.

Then we stocked up on scrapbook supplies and tried to catch up on all of our out of date scrapbooks. This was a daunting task for me especially because I had to catch up on, well lets see, FOREVER! Because I've never done a scrapbook.

I was impressed though for my first time scrapbooking I actually came up with some pages that I liked. There were more pictures but they're not on my camera.
{ Coming Home }

I had a great time but the whole time I was missing my boys. I came home to the sweetest thing EVER!

{ a trail of hand cut rose petals }

I always thought that was the sweetest thing and WISHED that it would happen to me someday! Thank you K.C. He stayed up the night before and MADE me a dozen roses. And cut out petals for me! It was the perfect coming home present.

I still can't believe that he made such beautiful flowers for me! I never could have done it as good!

Drinking Fountain

I was getting Craig a drink of water
{ he LOVES drinking fountains }.
This fountain was NOT just a drizzly one and the water went shooting up and hit him in the forehead. I thought that he started crying but then I realized that he was LAUGHING.
I have never heard him laugh so hard. We caught some of it and I'm so glad. It's such a happy sound.

Remember when...?

This is gonna be good! So I was looking back through my planner trying to find some information and I came across something simply too good to keep to myself.

Last year, Shortly after Craig was born K.C. and I were getting ready for bed and he was very very tired but we stilled had to read scriptures and pray so he was trying to hang in there.

Have you ever been so tired that you read the same line over and over again but don't notice till about the 5th time? or you get done with a page and realize you don't really remember reading any of it? Well both of these things were happening in abundance. And then... He's reading along and he says:

"They do walk circumspectly that they do keep the lights on."

He didn't understand why I started laughing because he didn't even hear himself. And then right after that:

"He has given it unto you that ye may laugh at the dinner table."

What a priceless memory! The only sad thing about it all is that the time of no sleep and way to much homework/school/work... the list goes on is returning next Tues. Poor poor K.C. Sometimes I wonder if he's going to be tired for the rest of his life.

The Counting Train

This is Craig at 11 months putting together his train puzzle. He loves to clap for himself when he does it well. And bob his whole body around when he nods his head.{ He's learned to shake his head now too but it ends up being his whole body half the time. }

And halfway through he starts smacking his lips together like a kiss. { He's started actually trying to give a real kiss instead of just slobbering your face off. } I guess he likes to practice at random moments while building puzzles.

His love for puzzles was actually inspired by a puzzle shape book I have where there are shapes { triangles, circles, squares... } that you pull out for him and he puts them back, much the same way as this one. So fun. I love these books!

Enjoy!

Camping Trip

We took Craig on his first camping trip! It was very fun. Of course as soon as I set him down he tried to eat a piece of deer poop. YUCK! Here he's helping dad put up the tent.

When K.C. started gathering firewood Craig got the program right away and started directing traffic. If K.C. didn't have any wood Craig would point at stuff on the ground. And as soon as K.C. would pick it up Craig would then point at the wood pile like "Go over there! Put it down."

We took my sisters with us and they said that it was their first time to go on an overnight camping trip. They were so cute and got so excited about everything. It was fun.

As the sun was starting to go down huge thunder clouds started to gather on the horizon and then lightning started to strike. We were all sad because no one wanted to go home. But happened to be right next to the only tall trees in like 100 yards. And the lightning was practically non stop off to the side of us so I was really worried.

We said a little prayer that we would know if it wasn't going to be safe and we should go home by having a scared feeling and being worried about the storm. But we also prayed that if it was OK for us to stay { because we all really wanted to } that we would feel calm and that we would forget about the storm and the storm would go away.

As soon as we were done the twins started talking about how good they felt and how it looked the clouds were going away. { They were still gathering and rolling over our heads } I was a little skeptical of their enthusiasm to stay regardless of what was safe or not. But I tried to have faith and believe that they were right.

We all decided to play a game and wait a little while before we decided what to do. It was the coolest thing ever. We all got lost in the game and about an hour later K.C. suddenly said "Hey you guys look there's no more thunder and lightning."

If fact there were no more clouds in the sky { except for a few small ones on the horizon }.
Wow! I was amazed. I guess I was trying to be practical and wise so I was sure we were headed home. But it was a great lesson to me on the power of prayer and the faith of a child. { or in this case 2 }

It's nice to know that Heavenly Father cares about little things that we'd like even when they aren't really that big a deal in the whole scheme of things. - wow that was really long!
Hanging out watching the fire.

We stayed the night had a great time. Craig even slept all night. { We hardly got a wink. } He was in our sleeping bag and all 5 of us were in the little tent. I never knew that Craig moved so much in his sleep and thank goodness he has his own bed at home. He flipped and flopped ALL night. I was squished up against the side of the tent and K.C. was squished in the bottom of the bag to avoid getting kicked in the face. It was defiantly an adventure.

Brian Regan - The real deal

So as I mentioned, we went to see Brian Regan last Wednesday! It was such a fun day. We went up the night before and spent the day in the Salt Lake area just goofing off and making some good memories. Grandma and Grandpa were good enough to keep the Craigo for us so we were just the two of us on a real honest to goodness date.
We went to down town SLC and toured the Brigham Young home and wandered around there for a while.
{ a photo trail of our adventures }
{ this one was funny - a lady was following us around
obviously with the intention of asking for something
so i jumped up on the wall when we had a few yards head
start on her, K.C. had enough time to snap a quick shot,
and then I saw her nearing us so I jumped down and we
dashed off to the next place. we were both laughing. }

OK. Then we went to Brian Regan. We were about 2.5 hours early but we thought we'd at least go and figure out what the place looked like that we were heading to. We found this line waiting for us so I quickly jumped out to save a spot while K.C. went and got something for us to eat while we waited.
After a lot of trouble having to go from one line to the other to figure out our tickets (some were will call, some were not) We finally met up with Josh and Megan! We were so excited that they could come with us. Ever since we got the tickets we'd been plotting to get them to come too but it just didn't seem like it was going to work. I'm so glad that it did!
There was a beautiful windy trail that led us through the lush greenery of Thanksgiving Point (I never knew it was so pretty there). To a huge outdoor amphitheater.
{This is what it looked like when we got there}
{ and this is right before the show started }Anxiously waiting!
Visiting with friends
This was the back drop of the show. I was told that it is the largest man made waterfall in the western hemisphere. Very impressive.
The show begins!

And the rest is about like this... HA ha ha... wheeze... tear... ha ha ha.

It was very funny. I was so happy because there were a ton of families there with their little kids. And Brian Regan stayed clean and funny. I'm so glad.

We did take a few small video's and I contemplated posting some of them. BUT there is one large problem with all of them. You see I was holding the camera... therefore the mic was uncommonly close to my mouth... therefore my laugh { which happened to never stop, and it's never good to hear your voice recorded. } is very shall we say overpowering.

Brian Regan

K.C. and I are going to go see
Brian Regan LIVE
in Lehi on Wednesday! I'm am so excited. He's the funniest comedian ever and he's SO clean. I have never even known of a comedian that was so family friendly. K.C. can hardly contain his excitement.

I have a question though. We are going up Tues night and are going to be in the Provo to Salt Lake area for all of wed and come back wed night. We need good ideas of things to do for some fun memory making and preferrably things that are not hard on the pocket book.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be great!

Animal Sounds

What does the Cow say Craig?
"MOO!"

What does the Tiger say?
(with mouth open in a fierce-barely audible Raaa)
"RAA!"
One day I showed Craig what some on his favorite animals sounded like. It's pretty cute. This video features the Gorilla, Lion / Tiger (virtually the same). He hadn't learned cow at this point.

You'll also notice him bouncing off the furniture. He's finally reached the point where he'd rather walk than crawl. But when he gets excited he gets kinda tipsy.

Yesterday he learned Rooster and Wolf. He did it all by himself. I was reading him a story and made the rooster sound. Immediately he tried to imitate it. I wish I'd been filming, it was so stinking cute! Hopefully I can catch it soon.

K.C. showed him Lamb and Cow a day or two ago and His favorites are probably cow and tiger, but he lights all up and laughs when I do rooster.

Playing at the Park

We went to the park that's near our house and K.C. taught me how to do leaf races. I'd never done that before. It was lots of fun.

Round 1: We very carefully crafted our speedy leaf vessels...

Craig was our quality control man.
"This one survived the crash test mom, it should be a good solid rudder."
Then we let dropped them in the raging river (a fierce gushing trickle) AND... They both drowned instantly. Miserable failures!

In case you can't hear what is being said in the movie. I comment on our drowning boats and then K.C. says. "Oh No! Our design principles are POOPY at least when it comes to boats!"

Here are the soggy wrecks!

Round 2. We're going more for aerodynamics and speed this time. (The camera was dying so I only managed to get a shot in here and there.)

This was my 2nd try.
I'm happy to report that after a little practice and some skillful revamping of my "poopy design principles" I WON! Fun times. I love being married.

Then we threw Craig's little football around for a little while and he loved it.
notice the ever-present ring of drool on Craig's shirt.
He always has a constant stream running and where
everhe goes he leaves little wet spot, in this case
on daddy's head
(and in the next picture on his sleeve.)

Flip Flop

We finally have our very own Table AND CHAIRS for the first time in our married life!!! Yipee! I'm so excited to be able to sit around the table for a meal instead of some random place in the house. (or stand around the patched together table that we had before). I'll post pictures of it later.

Because we were buying the table we were able to get a really good deal on a couch/bed for our guest room/office. It's actually called a flip flop, I'm so excited.

I love that it's bright red!

It folds down to make a bed. It's not a queen bed or anything but at least it's something for people to sleep on when they come.

Dinosaurs!

So a week or so ago my sisters came over and saw that I had a "dinosaur excavation kit". They were so excited I'm pretty sure that if I'd told them they couldn't do it with K.C. and I that they would have melted into little puddles of twins. It was actually really really cool. We were all having a blast and stayed up till 1:30am because no one could stand to go to bed. It came in a rock with the tools to dig it out and some plastic 'safty glasses.' We each took turns passing the rock around and chipping at it till we got a little chunk off and then we'd pass it on to the next person. "Oh man, I think we found the foot!"

"There's the head!"
There were constant gleeful exlamations and "Oh that's probably a bone! Don't Break it."

Even Craig was in on the action. He never can miss the fun.
After we got all the pieces excavated we put them all together and this is what we had dug up.
So fun. Thanks for coming to party with us girls! You made it even more exciting
