Big Changes

I got released as the second counselor in primary today. It was kind of a shock. But I know that it's a good thing.

It was pretty sudden. We were called in as a presidency to meet with the bishop right before church started. (We thought he was going to discuss a bunch of names that we'd just submitted) He released us and told us that the new presidency would be sustained in a few minutes. They were a good fit. I think they will do a great job.

It was bitter sweet and kind of a lost feeling all at the same time. I have to admit I'm going to miss cub scouts, and the kids in primary, and working with the presidency. But I am also excited to meet more people in the ward.

I'll be sad not to be with K.C. at all the Cub Scout functions. But I'm sure that when Craig turns 8 I'll get my fill of it! I guess it's time for a new adventure!

Thank you K.C. for being so supportive!

(I just hope that I'm ready for whatever comes next!)

So Lucky

I had a happy surprise the other day. After I posted that my house was a disaster I made a firm resolution to fix it! Then I went to exercise with the plan of coming back all motivated to make it happen! Well to my surprise when I got home K.C. told my that Annie and Elle called and said they were bored so they wanted to come clean the house!

What?

What kind of ten year old girls say that?!?!

Awesome ones! That's who.

So Annie and Elle performed a miracle for me. Even though they're only ten they are some of the biggest helpers in the world and they are really good at what they do. And SO thoughtful.

For me it was a miracle.

I'm so grateful for tender mercies that keep me going everyday. I sure am a lucky big sister!

Disaster

There is one word that quite acurately describes every inch of my house:

Disaster!

{ OK I confess, Daniel did help me clean some in the kitchen today... that was nice. There are a few inches in there that are quite refreshing, but as for the rest of it... sigh}

You're on!

On the way to church we asked Craig if he would like to go to nursery all by himself and be a big boy. He said he really wanted daddy to come with him. So we told him that he had a couple of choices. He could have a "lollipop" (as he calls a sucker :) when we got home if he went by himself or he could have daddy come with him....

He sat there a minute so I asked him. "Do you want to go all by yourself and get a lollipop?"

Craig: "You're on mama! I'll do it!"

Where in the world did that come from? Lol :)

I like it curly!

Turns out, I like it curly too! The end.

He's everywhere!

Craig and i were having fun with the camera!

I want to do it again when the house is clean. It could look awesome! but this is pretty sweet!

Final Decision

We talked with Craig about how it's ok for him to let us know when he doesn't like something or doesn't want to do something so that if we need to we can talk about other options. But when we've made our final decision it's time to say OK and not try to change it anymore.

He has decided that this tactic works on us too.

If he really wants to do something he'll say. "Mama I'm just gonna do this... and that's my final decision!"

Just now he was helping K.C. put together a little table and K.C. was trying to get him to go potty first. After some talking about it daddy said "Why don't you help me finish this and then you can run to the potty?"

Craig's response was "Yep! That's my final decision!"

What a funny little guy

Hair Cut

So K.C. and I discovered that we both like the idea of me having long hair... but in actuality we love the pictures of it short. So... I chopped it off.

It was hard to say good bye to that much hair! Seriously there were 5 dustpans heaping full of hair. Sad day. But not really. I've been growing my hair out forever but I've mostly just been annoyed with it for quite a while so it was a good change. :)

Now I need to try it curly and see how that goes!

Wanda Knows: Snakes

Episode 25 - Wanda Knows Snakes

I have to apologize for my terrible neglect of the Wanda knows series. Although I have not posted them it does not mean that they are not alive and well. :) On the way home from the farm this happened and re-inspired me to post some of the ones that I've been trying to remember! enjoy.

The Background: Driving home from the farm in Nevada Wanda was explaining how she thought she had not done anything that at least one of her brothers or sisters had done, but then she realized that she was wrong. She had once gone to the house of a boy who had been featured in the news for having more than 100 animals in his back yard.

Wanda: "This guy had lots of animals but the only ones that he left out for us to pet were the Boa Constructor and the alligator because the others were too dangerous."

K.C.: "Wait a minute, did you say Boa Constructor?"

Wanda: "Yes, Boa Constructor. You know, it's a big snake."
