Wake up! And Happy Birthday!

In all of the business I have neglected to post much about my little boy. He is getting bigger and bigger and cuter and cuter. He talks almost non stop and sings almost as much as he talks. Yesterday Craig was on a roll! Here's a few highlights:

Wake up Mom and Dad! Now!
So Craig usually wakes up earlier than we would like him to. (by that I mean he doesn't sleep in till 9 or 10 everyday:) We really should get up when he does but the last week or so we've been bringing him into our bed and letting him play while we dose for a little longer. Most of the time he'll fall back a sleep too but not yesterday!

He played sweetly and climbed on and off the bed, over the top of us, onto our heads, basically everywhere. When he finally tired of that and after several failed attempts to literally PULL us out of bed he flopped down next to K.C. in what seemed defeat.

Little did I know it was all just a genius plan starting to unfold. I couldn't really see him but I could hear him grunting and jabbering away to himself as he kind of flopped around. So naturally I closed my eyes and didn't worry about it. THEN i hear him say in an all too pleased voice a very familiar phrase that is usually used when changing his diaper..."EEW YUCKY!!!"

I opened my eyes just in time to see quite the picture. Craig, standing by K.C.'s head with delight in his eyes. His fully loaded and very 'yucky' diaper in his HANDS!!! held at arms length over K.C.'s face!

A million thoughts flashed though my head as I snatched the diaper and tried to keep Craig from sitting on anything while K.C. grabbed the wipes and a new diaper, things like... What in the world? How did he get that off? Thank goodness he was standing up. Is the bed dirty? But most prevalent was:

"OK, OK, you win! We're up!"

Now that is a resourceful little boy.

Highlight 2
That evening on the way back from grandma and grandpas Craig, as usual, fell asleep in his car seat. Or so I thought when all of a sudden out of he blue I hear

"Happy Birthday to you!"

Sung at the top of his lungs, very clearly. It kind of startled me so I turned to sing with him only to find that he really was asleep. And he had been the whole time!

What a cute little guy. I love it when he sings, and the happy birthday song is starting to sound like the real thing instead of a funeral march! I caught a video of the funeral march version but that camera's battery is dead so it will have to come later.

Family Photo Fun

Several weeks ago I got to take pictures of this cute family. They have not one, or two, but three babies! That's right, triplets! And then an older boy too. It was lots of fun. Here are a few of my favorites.

I have so much fun doing this. And I just finished taking pictures of all of their extended family (on one side:) so there might be a few steak peaks at those.

Prom

No, Not me, my brother just went to prom. Although K.C. and I might as well have gone. We did everything with him and his group except go to the dance. He asked me if I would take pictures of everyone for them so they could save a little money and not have to buy them at the dance. I was excited for the opportunity, especially since I haven't really taken any pictures of groups.

They were really really cool kids. I was very impressed. And they were very fun to take pictures of. We started the day around 6 when we took them all repelling. That lasted till 2. Then we rushed home and barely squeaked into a birthday party, while they all got ready. Then we rushed back to Hurricane area where we met them to take pictures. That lasted till almost 8 (after everyone finally got there). And then they had us come to their dinner with them.

It was tons of fun. AND I found the coolest spot EVER for pictures. It's this really old school building that's falling apart. It was perfect.

I haven't had a chance to edit all of the pictures but here's a few of the fun ones. I hope they like them!

Garden Fresh!

We have been having so much fun with our garden! We have lettuce, green beans, tomatoes, carrots, peas and strawberries.

So far the lettuce and strawberries are the only ones that have been producing edible food. I love going out and picking lettuce from my own garden to make a salad. And Craig and I always have a lot of fun counting the strawberries. The tomatoes have little blossoms on them now. I can't wait till we have fresh tomatoes! They are SO much yummier than the ones you buy at the store!
Craig picking some lettuce.

Our little strawberry patch.

The FIRST strawberry! Small but oh so yummy.....
I think.

You see this is what happened.

Craig saw the strawberry... Wanted to hold the strawberry...
And then the little stinker snarfed it!
It must have been good because he was headed to the patch to pick another one before he'd even finished eating it. We have since had many ripe strawberries and I can vouch for their amazing goodness.

When I water the garden Craig will go and carefully inspect each strawberry plant. All the while saying either "Um... um.... um... um..." or "1, 2, 3, (from here it skips around a bit and ends up being something like) 5, 6, 8. I have to watch carefully though because if they show the slightest pink he wants to try and eat them. He listens really well when I ask him not to. But I'm still afraid that one day I'll find the whole plant uprooted.

So if you ever want to sample our produce, stop on by! I can't claim that it's the best ever. But it's not DEAD! So I count is as a success. This is my first garden and I'm having so much fun with it. Thank you, thank you K.C. for being so thoughtful and getting me all these wonderful plants.

Fresh Fruit and Veggies!

Dreams really do come true.

Since I was 14 I've been saving my 'rewards points' on my credit card for one specific reason.

And today, it all paid off....

We're going on a cruise!
for FREE!

I am so excited I can hardly hold myself together. I guess it's even better since I've been waiting for it and planing for it and HOPING beyond hope that it would actually happen someday for a long time.

It's a 7 day Caribbean cruise. We'll leave from Miami on May 3 and return May 10th. (Florida? I'm going to Florida?!) A cruise AND Florida all in the same trip. Wow. I'm not gonna lie, this really is a dream come true.
