Week 38 (and 5 days)

For a while there it seemed like she was going to surprise us all and come early. But Here I am at almost 40 weeks. Still pregnant and seemingly going to stay that way. :)

It's always fun with grandpa!

Craig has the funnest time with grandpa! When we were all watching a show Craig and grandpa disappeared. this is what they were working on...

A Tea Party!

Craig very carefully filled the cups until they were all bursting at the seams!

(and of course then he added a little more!)

Walk carefully grandpa!
(this was a very slow paced methodical walk from the sink back to the party)

There is no doubt about it, grandpa is tons of fun.

Week 38

38 weeks and still pregnant :) She gave us a little startle there for a while, but the contractions have slowed down quite a bit. I still have several a day but they're not nearly so regular. But on the upside, when I do have a contraction it's quite a bit harder than it was before.

I feel like we're still making progress though. If I can get a lot of the preparation and hard part out of the way little by little with little to no pain before I go into labor, that's just fine with me. Although this little false alarm has got me feeling more anxious and ready to just have her right now, there are still very distinct advantages to waiting till after K.C.'s graduation. So Although it would be nice to have her now, I'm still content to wait.

Last I went to the midwife (almost a week ago) everything was looking good. She still seems quite healthy and growing. My ribs have been KILLING me, I must have bruised them or something because all along the right side is just inflamed with pain. it makes it hard to breath, or cough (which I still do semi-regularly) or lay on my side.

I have been going to a health clinic that has been helping me to feel quite a bit better and stay in good condition for the birth. I've even had some relief from my hip pain.

Oh and the sciatic pain has all but disappeared. So nice.

I guess we just have to wait and see now what this little one has in mind, it will be fun to find out what that is!

Still Keeping Busy!

Still trying to keep busy and get ready as we wait for this little girl.

So here's a few of the latest projects.

I found an old junky shelf at DI that was kind of broken and had a VERY ugly finish. K.C. sanded it down for me (I know, like he needs one more thing to do! - He's so sweet!) And then I painted it on Monday. I love how it turned out!

Here's what it looks like with some stuff in it.

I've also made several little hair bows. Small ones that I can glue to her head while I wait for her lovely locks to get long enough to hold ones with clips.

And a bigger one... because I couldn't resist

K.C. also built shelves for the new office and I got most of my craft stuff organized. A very fun part of this project was the ribbon shelf that he made me... genius! You really need to see it to understand how perfect it is. (pictures to come)

The room switch is mostly done, there are still random piles strewn about but there is a fair amount of order and cleanliness intermixed with it, so I'm not feeling too stressed about it. (pictures to come)

Oh and with the help of Wanda I got this decorated so cute! Love it!

We even picked out her first outfit and put it with the pile of supplies that we had to get ready for the birth
 (supplies)

(You'll notice that this is a hat and bow that I made! Not just made but came up with all on my own!)

(first outfit)

Oh and here's something else I did awhile ago just for the fun of it.

Well that's all I have pictures of!

Magna Cum Laude

I'm so proud of K.C.! He is graduating with honors! This is so amazing to me. For most of his college experience he has received nothing but A's.

(Don't even get me started on the professor that gives him tests on things that even the professor doesn't know how to solve and then gives him stupid grades because he couldn't teach what he was testing! the last few semesters he has received one or two grades that were not an A but they were all from the same professor! It makes me irritated that this one sour apple had to ruin a perfect record! But I'm not talking about that!)

It has been amazing to me to have K.C. be in school, working full time, and being a full time daddy and husband. He has been so amazing through the last 4.5 years and has always performed to the highest standards. And as he likes to point out, he doesn't stress about school and everything else on his plate because I do that for him.

He could very easily get consumed with life and forget to stop and play with his son, or forget to stop and make his wife feel special, but he doesn't. He has always kept his family at the front of his focus and taken such good care of us. I'm not going to lie, I am not going to miss school when it's over and I'm certainly not going to miss the 2am and 3am bedtimes as we (because I can't go to bed without him) try to accomplish everything. But all in all, he has handled it like a champ and I'm so proud of what he has achieved.

There are only 2 days left of class and then a few finals next week and then... graduation! You can do it K.C. the finish line is in site! I'm so excited for the next stage of our life as we leave school behind for now and move into a new way of life! You're amazing and I love you so very much. Thank you for being the most wonderful husband in the world.

And as they say in Latin "You're Totally Awesome!"

(Basically this means that of the hundreds of students that will graduate from Dixie this year, my sweet K.C. is in the top 35!)

That's my K.C.

Week 37

37 Weeks.

I'm pretty proud of myself though. These pants are dress pants that K.C. got me as a wedding present that I wore the day we got married. And I could still put them on! (Alright no they didn't button but still I feel like it's quite the accomplishment.

(and I made the bow in my hair :) it was a fun spur of the moment project.

Quality time with dad.

K.C. put Craig down for his nap the other day while I ran some errands. When I came home, this is where I found him:

Then later the same day Craig pulled K.C. out of the office begging for him to read a story...

Isn't that the cutest thing ever?

I can't even say how much these two boys make me happy! K.C. is such a wonderful daddy. I'm always amazed at how much he has to do and how much he still stops and puts it on hold to spend time with his little boy. Craig is one lucky kid!
