BOO!

So Halloween isn't exactly a huge deal at our house. We always wonder if we're going to do something this year... then we always do. It goes about like this.

an hour before we want to leave.

"I guess we should have some costumes."

So I grab some scraps. Whip up some costumes, and we're off.

Cute little family!
One HOT Batman.
(and yes I did make that costume... No I didn't do it in 20 min.
It was made before hand for a Cub Scout training)

This year it was
Batman
Catwoman
Hiccup &
Astrid

Spooky FHE

Our good friends the Blockburgers are moving. It's a wonderful thing for them but I can't help but feel a little bit (or a lot) sorry for myself because I'm going to miss them!

But in honor of past halloween parties that we've had with them we had a Halloween, Pumpkin Carving, FHE. It was fun.
We had 'Sea Creature'

 &
Mummy Dogs

Then I helped Craig carve his pumpkin.
First I drew a face and he said
"No mama! It needs some buck teeth! Buck teeth like Mater the Greater!"

So here's his buck toothed pumpkin

K.C.'s Pumpkin

My Pumpkin
(I had to get creative because Craig had jabbed 'eyes' all over my pumpkin before I got to it. So this is what I ended up with. Mostly I was just trying to use the existing holes to my advantage...

A family of pumpkins!
We didn't actually carve Savannah's so It just got a face drawn on!

Pumpkins and Halloween

Yes Christmas is almost here and I'm just now getting to Halloween!

We went and picked out pumpkin this year. Craig had lots of fun petting the animals:

Giving them hugs.

Playing on the corn slide with daddy.

And the TEETER TOTTER.
{all of K.C.'s life he's called this a "Teety Totter" - it cracks me up!}

And of course being his adorable self.

Then we went to the pumpkin patch and he picked out our pumpkin.

{not either of these pumpkins though!}

We were all coughing and sick but I'm glad we went. Thanks to the Blockburgers for going with us or it may never have happened!

We were all feeling a little bit better but not much by the time Halloween rolled around so it was very mellow at our house this year. (we did actually spend most of the say at Bryce canyon because K.C. had to go there for a homework assignment. But that's another story) Several days AFTER Halloween we finally got around to carving the pumpkin. We asked Craig what kind of a face it should have and this is what he said....

So that's what we did! Pretty good I'd say.

I love to see how much fun Craig has with his daddy!
They are such good buddies.

It's making this face dad!

"There's a fire in there mom!"

Trick or Treat? What Treat?

It's Halloween! The time year where treats run wild and yummy things abound! (Even to the point that there is a dentist in town offering to pay per pound for your Halloween candy - saves you from the cavities! I'm just not sure what he's going to do with all of it...)

But a lass no such celebrations for us. I didn't even have one candy. I still have this ridiculous cough and so do K.C. and Craig (to a lesser extent). So we handed out a few goodies to the trick-or-treaters  that came to our door but sadly we did not partake.

We did have fun during the day and took a fun trip to Bryce Canyon, which I will tell about in grater detail later. My plan is this. I'm getting my 'sick' spell out of the way early this year so that by the time Thanksgiving and Christmas roll around I will be able to thoroughly enjoy myself! I think it's a good plan. I can't wait to have Eggnog, pumpkin pie, apple cider,  and so many other holiday delights!

This is such a wonderful time of year! Every time I go outside I feel the nip in the air, see the leaves changing colors and it's like the holidays are here and I just get an itch to plot and plan and get gifts, and make all sorts of things and fill the world with holiday cheer! Then I start coughing, come back in side, throw up some more, lay on the couch and wonder when it's going to end. I just hope it ends soon! There's too much to be enjoying to let it drag out much longer!

Halloween Fun

First off Halloween was a lot of fun this year! AND it was a complete bummer. Our whole little family is sick and the last 3 days have been the worst of all. I thought that last week was bad but I've hardly slept because of a strange sore throat where I can't even swallow without tons of pain and because Craig's been coughing all night. I even resorted to turning the shower on and sleeping on the bathroom floor with him. We don't have a humidifier so it was the best I could do.
Anyways that's the bummer part but the fun part was this.
Our little lion!
He absolutely LOVED getting his face painted! He never moved a muscle and then he'd look in the mirror, smile and say 'more' 'more!' In this video I had a mirror sitting on the counter so he could watch while I painted. It's so cute, (till the end when he wanted to hold the camera and take pictures himself.)
If you listen real close you can hear him say "Ra"
I just thought it was so cute how his little tail would swing while he walked.
(I made this costume about 15 min before we left. It was inspired by my sister Ang.)
Then he put shoes on so we could go.
It was the first time in a long time that we've done much for Halloween, it was a lot of fun even if we didn't feel very good.
